William R. Thomas (Founder, retired)
Mr. Thomas graduated from San Francisco State in 1960 and received his J.D. degree from Golden Gate College in June 1967. He was admitted to the California Bar in December of 1967, and is currently retired.
Richard J. Lyding
Mr. Lyding graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1974, and received his B.A. degree as a Political Science major. He graduated from California Western College School of Law in San Diego with a J.D. degree in 1977. He was admitted to the California Bar and joined the firm in 1978, and is currently retired.
Mark A. Cartier (Managing Partner)
Mr. Cartier graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1983 with a B.A. in Political Science. He graduated from the University of San Francisco, School of Law in 1986 after performing a clerkship with the Honorable John Beson. He was admitted to the California Bar in 1986. Mr. Cartier began work for the firm in 1984 as a law clerk, and has worked as an attorney since his admission to the Bar. Mr. Cartier has worked as an editorial consultant to the author of the Continuing Education of the Bar publication California Workers’ Damages Practice. Mr. Cartier has lectured and taught in the field of workers’ compensation and subrogation. He is a certified specialist by the California Bar and is a partner in the firm.
Elisha L. Arnone (Partner)
Ms. Arnone graduated from San Jose State University in 1988 with a B.A. in Journalism and a minor in Spanish. She graduated from Santa Clara University in 1991 with a J.D. degree. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1991 and began working in civil litigation practice with an emphasis in personal injury and workers’ compensation law. She is certified as specialist by the State Bar of California in the practice of workers’ compensation law. Ms. Arnone joined the firm in 1993.
Evan M. Daily (Partner)
Mr. Daily graduated from Humboldt State University in 2001 with a B.S. in Business Administration. He graduated from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2008. He has extensive trial experience from working for the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, later as an independent criminal defense attorney, and in the fields of Debt Collection and Bankruptcy. He is certified to appear before the Northern, Southern, Central and Eastern Districts of California. Mr. Daily joined the firm in 2012 and is a partner in the firm.
Leslie A. Leyton (Associate)
Ms. Leyton graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2009 with a B.A. in Politics and a minor in Legal Studies. She graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2016, with honors. She was admitted to the California Bar in 2016 and joined the firm as an associate in 2017. She has varied experience in employment law, criminal law, and bankruptcy. She is certified to appear before the United States District Court, Northern District of California.
